What is ONE GULF?
Acadian Air Med Services proudly presents to you its newest service: ONE GULF. ONE GULF is an offshore emergency call center staffed by paramedic flight controllers who coordinate logistics for the Gulf of Mexico. This service is staffed 24/7 with a dedicated aero-medical paramedic dispatcher who will coordinate all offshore requests for help and direct the rescue accordingly. ONE GULF is an FAA-approved Operational Control Center for three FAA Part 135 operators. Currently, ONE GULF is monitoring 15 aircraft.
ONE GULF monitors availability of the Acadian Air Med Services fleet of helicopters, as well as other helicopter providers, and will suggest using the closest appropriate airborne asset to facilitate evacuation of the injured/ill worker in addition to directing the transportation, providing follow-up and coordinating ground-based ambulances as needed.
Databases of the offshore location are stored in our Computer-Aided Dispatch Server. Using information provided by your company (block number, coordinates, phone, etc.), the dispatcher can follow the information to correctly dispatch the correct asset, contact essential personnel, and direct the rescue as needed on a case-by-case basis.
Using nationally standardized protocols, the dispatcher will also provide self-help to the caller, coordinate online medical control, and direct the rescue to the most appropriate hospital for the needs of the patient.
After the patient has been delivered to the hospital, follow-up reporting to essential personnel is coordinated through the ONE GULF system.
